Part -I of this blog briefly explained the two giants in the cloud platform, their introduction and their different features. We also initiated a small comparison on both cloud platforms to see which one was better. Only two factors were compared in the 1st blog. The rest factors are compared here. So let\u2019s dig without wasting time.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Comparison Part-II<\/h2>\n

 <\/p>\n

Storage Services<\/strong>: In terms of storage services, both AWS and Azure provide long-running reliable services. For AWS, it has services namely AWS S3, EBS, and Glacier whereas Azure has Blob Storage, Standard Archive and the Disk Storage. The advantage of AWS S3 is that it ensures high availability and automatic replication of data across the regions. Azure uses a temporary storage and page blobs for Virtual Machine (VM) volume and has a Block Storage option similar to that of S3 in AWS.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Database Services<\/strong>: The databases must be evolved and updated constantly to handle the different types of data structures. AWS and Azure both provide different database services to handle both types of structured and unstructured data. AWS has Amazon RDS and Azure has Azure SQL Server Database for these purposes. Amazon RDS offers support for different database engines like MySQL, MariaDB, Amazon Aurora, Microsoft SQL and Oracle whereas, in Azure, SQL Server Database is based on SQL. When compared in terms of interface, Azure is much friendlier whereas AWS is better at providing with more instances. Azure also provides Cortana Intelligence Suite that comes with Hadoop, Spark, HBase and Storm.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Networking Services<\/strong>: In terms of networking, Microsoft Azure Virtual Network is a counterpart to Amazon\u2019s VPC and lets you do all the stuff VPC does such as the creation of isolated networks under the cloud, create subnets, private IP address ranges, and network gateways etc. Both the vendors have the solutions for extending the on-premise data centre into the cloud.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The Final Verdict<\/h2>\n

From the comparison, both the cloud platforms have potential capabilities and it is not easy to choose a perfect cloud platform. Microsoft Azure is great when it comes to hybrid cloud and integrating with Native Microsoft applications, therefore, if you are using Microsoft Windows, Azure would be a good option, whereas AWS offers more flexibility and extra features which is something to try for. The thing about cloud platforms is that it all depends on your preferences such as pricing, features, experience etc. Always choose wisely.<\/span><\/p>\n
