The Transition of Managed Services to the ‘new normal’

A survey was conducted among the 305 finance leaders in the U.S. by PwC. They published a study as to what degree working from home is about to become the new normal post the COVID-19 situation.

Nearly 50% percent of the respondents say they are planning to make working remotely a permanent option for employees within their organizations.

As most of the employees are working from home, this has already had a huge impact on managed service providers (MSPs) in India. It is now uncertain how long will those employees remain at home even after the states and countries officially lift current stay-at-home notices. Many employees may not necessarily be ready to return to the office just because government officials have determined a certain acceptable level of risk for contracting the virus.

Even challenging, many organizations have to decide to reduce the number of employees allowed into the office at any given time. Reconfigured workspaces will only allow limited employees to share the physical space in a building.

Moving ahead, many organizations will soon be recovering from the economic impact of the pandemic for months to come. Many will decide they don’t necessarily need as much office space now that the employees have figured out how to remotely do their jobs efficiently. That decision could potentially save millions of dollars previously allocated for renting and leasing office space and hire Managed Service Providers in India.

Finally, many organizations that previously followed the internal IT staff model will have to move to a managed services model and keep looking for reliable Managed Service providers in India. The PwC survey says that nearly a third of the CFOs surveyed are anticipating layoffs within the next six months. Organizations will save cost by shifting the management of IT to a top Managed service providers in india, Managed service providers, Managed service companies, top MSPs in India

Remote employee’s v/s MSPs

For remote employees, everything from managing virtual private networks (VPNs) at scale to pushing application patches out to thousands of endpoints over wide area networks (WANs) is much more difficult. More than a few internal IT teams are simply not going to be up the task for the long haul. So, as remote work becomes the new normal, Managed Service Providers can easily take up the services more efficiently than a remote workforce.

The demand for managed services has always been somewhat anti cyclical. It may take a while for organizations to embrace the new normal, but gone are the days where the organizations employed large numbers of IT operations teams. The first choice for organizations is to automate as many processes as possible and then possibly look to an external service provider to manage the rest. More than a few organizations will only manage the development and deployment of applications in house and leave the rest to Managed Service Providers in India.

Most of the Managed Service Providers in India are already prepared themselves to take advantage of this inevitable transition now. Managed Service Providers in India that fail to anticipate and adapt quickly to the new normal now, will lose the upcoming tremendous opportunities.

The summary is that the transition to the ‘new normal’ following the impact of #covid19 will drive demand for Managed Service Providers in India. Decision makers must invest now to ensure future success for their MSP business.
